Expected receipts versus expected payments.
Value of one additional occupied bed
£0
Indicative annual placement income at the current average weekly fee, before the extra costs of the placement, and subject to suitable referrals and operating decisions.
What the numbers mean
Occupancy is occupied beds divided by registered beds. Because staffing is largely fixed, each empty bed costs far more in lost contribution than it saves.
Staffing cost to income and agency share show how much of every pound of fees goes on people, and how much of that is premium-rate cover. A rising agency share is often the earliest sign of recruitment or retention pressure.
Debtor days is how long, on average, placing authorities take to pay. Cash runway is how many weeks your cash would cover outgoings with nothing coming in.
The status labels use illustrative ranges as prompts for discussion. They are not sector benchmarks.
What question would your numbers make us ask?
Salis helps define each calculation consistently, reconcile the source data and explain the movement, not just display a percentage. Book a confidential first conversation; summary-level figures are enough.
